How I Waste Time on YouTube

Over about the last 6-9 months I’ve gotten kind of obsessed with these choreography videos on YouTube. There are a few different choreographers that put together these dance routines with generally the same crew of dancers. They pick current songs or remixes of current songs. I love seeing how they interpret the song, and it’s so cute seeing the younger kids in the group doing these intense hip-hop moves. If you’re ambitious you can watch the tutorial and do it yourself (I’m not that ambitious). These are like potato chips- once you pop…

This is the one that originally sucked me in- WilldaBeast Adams- Upgrade U by Beyonce

My favorite choreographers for these videos are Matt Steffania, Willdabeast Adams, and Tricia Miranda. It’s hard to pick favorites, but here’s my top five:

Matt Steffanina- Ayo by Chris Brown and Tyga

Matt Steffanina- Hotline Bling- Justin Bieber Remix

Tricia Miranda- WTF by Missy Elliot

WilldaBeast Adams- Formation by Beyonce

WilldaBeast Adams- Countdown by Beyonce (btw-he’s non-Beyonce songs as well)

Which one is your favorite?

Pandora Confessions

I don’t know about you, but I love Pandora! I definitely go through phases with it though. Some months I use it more frequently than others, and that’s based on when I remember to use it, and if it fits into my routine. I typically use it when I’m doing boring things on my computer and I need some energy from music. Or I’ll throw it on when I’m getting dressed, or cooking at home and I need some music. I was talking to a friend recently about Pandora and our stations and I realized that I have really quirky stations. Here’s my list:

  • New Kids on The Block
  • Today’s Hits
  • Today’s Country
  • Wicked
  • In the Heights
  • Rock the Boat
  • Toni Braxton
  • Ronettes
  • Cher
  • Celine Dion
  • Sha Na Na
  • Don’t Go Breaking My Heart

What a list. Right? I realize that it’s a little random but my justification is that I love to listen to the radio and keep up with current music, but Top 40 radio stations can get old fast because they seem to play the same 20 songs over and over again. So I look to Pandora for a little fun variety that will bring up some older songs that I loved back in the day, but still be not so crazy that it would distract me from work. This list gives me a great combination of oldies, divas, and Broadway, plusĀ a little pop here or there. You can make fun of my Cher station all you want, but I challenge you to have a bad day after hearing one of her songs.Cher

Friends don’t let friends Drunk Facebook

Last night I made the classic mistake of messaging someone on Facebook after a night of drinking. I saw a certain fellow out who I haven’t seen in a while and of course I did not have his number. In an attempt to try and possibly meet up with him in the future, I decided to message him upon a friend’s suggestion. Great minds do not think alike after a few cocktails. Needless to say, I have not gotten a response to my bizarrely worded hint at meeting up in the near future. I hope I did not screw this one up because he is definitely a date worthy guy. I’ll keep you updated if there is any progress but I wouldn’t hold your breath. Take a tip from me…friends don’t let friends drunk Facebook!
