So I didn’t set a special alarm for the wedding this morning, but I will say, as soon as I got out of bed at 7:15 (that is sleeping in for me) I definitely turned it on. The thing I love about royal weddings is that there is so much pomp and circumstance with no visible drama. Everything seems to come with drama these days, and there was no shortage in the days leading up to the wedding, but the fact that the wedding was so picture perfect today made me happy. A woman became a princess today which is amazing and I’m jealous.

I also love that British weddings are so different than American weddings. There are very few occasions for really fancy daytime wear in America. The fancy pastel tea length dresses and the long mourning coats- so good.

Favorite Outfits

Obvi. First, the fact that he chose the all black (or dark navy, I’m not sure) uniform with ruffles. EVERYTHING. And I don’t have too much to say about her dress except it’s perfect. And frankly, that’s exactly what I expected from her. My only complaint is that both this dress and the second dress looked like she missed the second fitting after she lost the last five pounds before the wedding. She needed them taken in a little bit.

Serena was my favorite guest. I want this dress, but it’s Versace, so I don’t think I’m going to get it. I thought it was a great nod to the occasion while still being chic and flattering on her. I loved the whole look.

A lot of people thought Victoria Beckham was plain and should have smiled more. To those people I say- I’m sorry, have you ever seen Victoria Beckham before, that’s her resting face. And also, though she was wearing a dark navy, I think it was respectful for the occasion and didn’t distract from the main event- which is rule number one when attending a wedding.

I thought Kitty Spencer did a great job wearing a strong color but having the beautiful floral print to make it perfect for the occasion. In a sea of pastels, it was nice to see an alternative that was still so appropriate.

Favorite Hat

This hat was fantastic. I love the flowers that are layered under the brim. A great combination of simple but feminine.

Less Impressed

I like Oprah, I don’t think this is Oprah’s best look. It felt like Easter Sunday in America. I need more structure in the dress and a smaller hat.

I don’t like any of the outfits in the above photo. None of them are the right level formality or femininity for the event. I think they each missed the mark in a different way.

I don’t get this look. It’s Jackie O, but Jackie O would wear that to a luncheon not to a royal wedding. And the shoes are wrong. You can do better Princess Eugenie.

The Best

The second look. I mean, come on.

Oh, and pardon me while I just wear neon green to my grandson’s wedding because it’s really his day. Typical grandmother move.
