The Boardwalk

One of my favorite things to do in the summer is to take a ride to Ocean City and take a stroll on the boardwalk. Because Ocean City is a dry town, it means that you have the chance to have some good old sober fun! Sadie and our good friend Karla had a blast.

We started the night with dinner at Clancy’s, which consisted of our choice of salad in order to save room for the boardwalk faire. Then we decided to hit up some of the rides. Below are some pics of our favorites. I must admit that I rediscovered that I am not a fan of ferris wheels. I will never be riding one again. The only exception I will ever make in my lifetime is for the London eye.

After the rides we grabbed a late night snack. I suggest getting a slice from Manco and Manco’s and then grabbing a cone from George’s. Although you can’t go wrong with salt water taffy from Shriver’s, caramel corn from Johnson’s, cheese fries from Curly’s or custard from Kohr Bros. Now that you’ve got the scoop, it’s time to head down to the Jersey Shore for the last two weeks of summer.

Pumped-Up Kicks

Well it’s been a long month. Sadie is coming to visit this weekend with our good friend Karla so that makes the month a little bit better. A little retail therapy this week made things better as well. I must admit that I gave in to the bright sneaker craze. I was influenced by my employees. Here is a picture of hers and then one of my new kicks. Maybe you will be persuaded as well!

Hobby Lobby: a Crafter’s Dream Come True

My mom and I have a new obsession with a craft store called Hobby Lobby. We recently discovered this crafty wonderland over the winter when one opened up about an hour from where we live. Since my mother owned her own fabric store, we are familiar with good quality fabrics. Unlike shopping at Walmart, you can find good quality fabrics at discounted prices at Hobby Lobby. You can find just about anything else you need for all your crafty desires.

Here is a recent project my mother made for my closest sorority sisters. I always like to surprise them with something when they come visit in the summer. We bought the fabric for the aprons and coordinating ribbon for the tea towels at Hobby Lobby. Don’t worry Sadie you will get yours next weekend and Steph yours will be in the mail soon! hope this inspires you to check out Hobby Lobby for yourselves.
