Songs I’ve downloaded from iTunes. (It’s been a while…)

  1. Gold by Kiiara. This is a really unique and cool song. It’s definitely not your average top 40. A little like Selena Gomez, but way cooler.
  2. Into You by Ariana Grande. It’s hard for me to say no to an Ariana Grande song. She’s got a Britney narrative with a Mariah voice. It’s a killer combination.
  3. Make Me by Britney Spears feat. G-Eazy. Brit Brit is definitely following the Bieber lead and getting more EDM by the minute. I don’t hate it.
  4. For Free by DJ Khaled feat. Drake. This song is a little blah, but it’s also pretty funny.
  5. Ruin by Shawn Mendes. Shawn is really finding his niche with his acoustic singer songwriter vibe.
  6. Sit Still, Look Pretty by Daya. This song is 100% girl power which is why I love it. It’s a little blatant but just awesome at the same time. It’s a great motivational song on the morning commute.
  7. Think of You by Chris Young feat. Cassadee Pope. I have to mix in a country song here and there. I like the story in the song, and it’s just plain catchy.
  8. Easy Love by Sigala. This is a great workout song. It’s basically an EDM remix of ABC by the Jackson 5. My spin class teacher uses it almost every week and I needed it in my rotation.
  9. We Don’t Talk Anymore by Charlie Puth feat. Selena Gomez. This has a pretty chill vibe but it’s somehow catchy at the same time. I think Charlie Puth is establishing a pretty good career with all of his high profile collaborations.
  10. Cheap Thrills by Sia feat. Sean Paul. I’m a sucker for Sean Paul. Sia, I get take or leave, but I needed something upbeat to add to the workout mix and this fit the bill.

Songs I downloaded on iTunes.

  1. Love in the Dark by Adele. I’m slowly accumulating Adele’s music, and while I love this song, I’m not so crazy about her latest single Send My Love (to your new lover). The verses are fine, the chorus is weird.
  2. Dance in the Graveyards by Delta Rae. I went to an A Capella concert a couple weeks ago in DC and this song was performed quite fabulously. It has a slightly morbid premise, but very joyful at the same time.
  3. Treat You Better by Shawn Mendes. This is a really catchy and sweet new tune from Shawn Mendes. I needed a new song on my playlist, and this fit the bill.
  4. Nothing But Trouble (Instagram Models) by Lil’ Wayne and Charlie Puth. This song is kind of hilarious, and a really good mix of Lil’ Wayne and Charlie Puth’s styles. It’s also just kind of funny to see these two do a song together. Charlie is getting some street cred with all of his fancy duets these days.
  5. Never Be Like You by Flume feat. Kai. This EDM song reminds me of a combination of Ellie Goulding and The Chainsmokers. It’s kind of chill and intense at the same time. I don’t really get the message, I think she cheated and she’s looking for forgiveness. I’ll have to listen again.

Last Five

songs I downloaded from iTunes. (it’s been a while, let’s get back on the wagon!)

1. Should’ve Been Us by Tori Kelly. At first I thought Tori Kelly was just a younger version of Natasha Bettingfield because she sounds like her in her first single “Nobody Love.” But now I’m thinking that was because of the melody of the song. “Should’ve Been Us” never gets old for me, I’ve been playing it very consistently for weeks and I still love it.

2. House Party by Sam Hunt. At first this song annoyed me a little, but then I gave in. I think it’s actually really funny and I love the chorus. It’s a great country summer song!

3. Back It Up by Prince Royce feat. Pitbull and J.Lo. Come on, how do you say know to Prince Royce, Pitbull, and J.Lo. The song is very catchy, and the video is super cute. It’s a great pop summer song.

4. Tonight Belongs to You by Jeremih feat. FloRida. This song kept coming up on my Pandora and I kept liking it a little more every time I heard it. It’s on my workout mix, and I think it’s just a nice middle ground between EDM, R&B, and rap.

5. Marvin Gaye by Charlie Puth feat. Meghan Trainor. At first I really didn’t like the stupid lyrics in this song, but I got over that because Charlie Puth is just too cute. The video is actually pretty funny.
